Italy
Should you be considering investing in Italian Property, then not only do you need to learn about laws and conventions in the Italian Property market,
you also need to learn about the locations that are attracting attention from property investors.
Italian hamlets are in high demand
....across Tuscany, Campania and Umbria, people have been acquiring an Italian character hamlet property. For example Borgo Rofino, a fortified Tuscan village for €1.5m.
Tassinare is a similiar Borgo with a hamlet of six,
(although the church will be retained by the Vatican State).
The buildings are abandoned with missing roofs, however post renovation with the surrounding scenery, the borgo (village), is due to look as stunning as other nearby hamlets.
There is growing demand for second homes overseas that are affordable, cultural and upscale.
Similar schemes are fuelling renovations in towns throughout Italy .....
.... more recently, the Germans, Swedes and Belgians have been snapping up mountainous multi-property sites and restoring them to create retreats and alternative communities of like-minded escapists.
Abruzzo
The Abruzzo property market is yet to fully mature like other areas of Italy. Prices are around half of what you would expect to pay in areas such as Umbria and Tuscany. Many investors consider Abruzzo to be the next area in Italy where the property bubble is set to burst. From a tourists perspective Abruzzo is a great location to ski, and another great advantage is the direct flights to the area, and the cheap flying costs made available by companies such as Ryanair.
Marche
Marche has among the cheapest property available in the whole of Italy, and also has great opportunities for investment. A popular exploit of investors in this area is to buy old farmhouses in need of restoration and improve them before renting them out to tourists or selling them directly. The attractive aspects of Marche include its locality to Pesaro, Urbino and Ancona. Cheap airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair also fly to Marche.
