Cape Verde Property
Until recently a select few even knew that Cape Verde existed. A cluster
of 18 small islands 240 miles off the coast of Senegal, West Africa.
Portuguese Origins
The uninhabited Islands were occupied by the Portuguese originally with
a mix of Africans, Portuguese and Europeans. Portuguese colonial
control of Cape Verde ended in 1975, which led to some Cape Verdeans
returning home. Many had taken to the USA after successive famine and
floods.
Property laws
Recently property laws have been relaxed and political and economic
stability have added to its attraction to investors. The currency is
pegged to the Euro, and developing tourism is seen by the government as
one of their top priorities.
Island Infrastructure
Volcanic mountains, and expanses of beach frame the Islands. New
airports and infrastructure projects are planned. An hours fly time from
the Canary Islands Cape Verde has the basic ingredients for a great
holiday destination.
Regional comparisons
When comparing the prices of Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands, Cape Verde is
almost four times cheaper, many believe Cape Verde is a fantastic
investment opportunity at the moment.
